Horses sculptures
Hello everybody,
today I'd like to write about sculpting.
Many artists want to draw and sculpt the horses, it's not weird, because they are very beautiful creatures. The problem is that, horses are the animals with very detailed and specific anatomy and it's not easy to present them in proper way. It's difficult for many advanced artist and that's why it is very important to learn something about the anatomy of those animals.
First of all I'd like to show the anatomy of the horse. When we trying to copy the nature we have to first of all base on it.

Many artist doesn't respect the rules of the anatomy and they trying to base on their own imagination, which is not the right solution. That's why their art looks unrealistic, because they don't trying to follow the real animals.
For all of the begginers: Even great artist like Picasso, or the animators from Disney, they all known how to recrate the natural look of the world, but they didn't do it because of their own choice. It's not because of the lack of knowledge, it was caused by their own style and purpose.
Anyway, going back to horse sculptures... It's not easy for artist to scultp the horse by watching them, but we can draw the easy and fast sketch, which will be very usefull in the future! Bellive me or not, but the sketches and observation are very important. That's why the artsts at the beggining trying to draw what they going to sculpt.

The muscles of the horses are very important, because those animals doesn't have long hair on their body, and we can see how the muscles are moving during the horse walk.
So when we got sketches, some photos of the horses and muscles we need to choose the pose. And this is the moment when we need the good quality reference photos. What do I mean?
It's all for today, I will tell you more about the sculptin in future posts.
Thank you and see you next time! <3

I mean this is not a good photo, because we can't see anything and it's hard to base on it:

And here we got some good photos:

Basing on many different photos we can know the horses from the many different angles, which is very important, because we are going to create our art in 3D.
