Hello there,

today I'd like to write about the materials which will be very usefull for customizing models.

About the sculpting I prefer the apoxie, which is " a unique 2-part clay-like adhesive that combines the features and benefits of sculpting clay with the adhesive power of epoxy! Offering enhanced detail properties, plasticity, accuracy, and handling features to make this clay superior for modeling, assemblage art, stamping/impressions, & more" (font: https://findanyanswer.com/what-is-apoxie-sculpt-used-for).
It's the most popular clay in the hobby, but it's not easy to buy it in Poland, that's why is not very cheap and I do not recommend it for the begginers.
Apoxie is easy to work with, all we need is:

-two parts of clay
- water
- and some tools for sculpting

For example, my tools whitch I use are the elastic brushes for nails and toothpick.

The details about the sculpting and te technique I'd like to present in other posts.

Brushes:
Brushes are very important. They shouldn't be very hard and large, we should choose the small soft ones. Of course it depends what part of model we want to paint, for example, we can't paint a horse eye with a large brush, we have to choose the small one to capture all of the details. It's not easy to operate and create a very realistic model horse when we do it for the first time, but practise makes perfect.
Brushes for the professionals are not very cheap, that's why for the begginers I reccomend to buy the cheaper ones with sintetic bristles, they can work very well.

Paints:

The best paints are the acrlics, because the are easy to use, easy to mix and also easy to... remove. Yes, it's actually very important, because when we want to fix something we should have paints which wouldn't be problematic.
We can remove acrylic paints for example with nail polish remover, because it has acetone.

Pastels:
For shading models we can use paints (I prefer this technique) or soft pastels which is the easier way for the begginers to have smooth transition on models.
To put pastels on model we need brushes, but they have to be dry. Using the samall knife we can file off the pastels, put it on the brushes and gently put on the models. After every layer of pastels we have to ude the varnish to save the colour.

Varnish:
Artist use warnish to protect they works. It's important to use the good varnish, because when we use  a low quality varnish, models can be sticky or the paint will not be protected. So it's better to buy more expensive lacquer to have a guarantee that our work and time will not be wasted.

It's all for today.
See you next time!
